§ 8-303. Telegrams to show times sent and received

  •    (a) Requirement. -- A telegraph company engaged in the business of transmitting communications by telegraph in the State and charging tolls for providing this service shall show conspicuously on each telegram delivered:

       (1) under the caption "time filed", the time the telegram was filed at the place of origin for transmission; and

       (2) under the caption "time received", the time the telegram was received at the office from which it is to be delivered.

    (b) Penalty. -- A telegraph company is liable for a fine of not less than $ 10 and not more than $ 200 for each telegram it delivers in violation of subsection (a) of this section.
