§ 12-309. Liability of commissioners and staff

  •    (a) Status of commissioners and staff. -- Each commissioner, the executive director, and each employee of an authority is:

       (1) a local official for the purposes of Title 15, Subtitle 8, Part I of the State Government Article and subject to local ethics laws; and

       (2) an employee of a local government for the purposes of Title 5, Subtitle 3 of the Courts and Judicial Proceedings Article and entitled to the protections of the Local Government Tort Claims Act.

    (b) Immunity. -- A commissioner of an authority is not liable for a statement made or action taken in good faith in the exercise or performance of a power or duty of the commissioner.
