§ 27-104. Reimbursement of forfeited bond or collateral

  •    (a) Defendant acquitted. -- The State Comptroller shall reimburse a defendant for any forfeited bond or collateral that has been received by the Comptroller after a District Court judge has stricken out the forfeiture, if the defendant is found not guilty of the offense charged.

    (b) Defendant convicted. -- If the defendant is found guilty of the offense charged, but his fine is less than the amount of the forfeited bond or collateral, the State Comptroller shall reimburse the defendant for any amount received by the Comptroller that is in excess of the fine.
