§ 9-407. Penalties; fines paid into General Fund

   (a) In general. -- A person who violates any provision of this title is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to:

   (1) A fine not exceeding $ 1,000 for a first offense; and

   (2) A fine not exceeding $ 5,000 or imprisonment not exceeding 6 months or both for any subsequent violation of the same provision.

(b) Fines paid into General Fund. -- The Board shall pay any fine collected under this section into the General Fund of the State.
