§ 8-510. Demonstration studies to evaluate regulation changes

  •    (a) In general. -- The Board may conduct a demonstration study to evaluate a proposed change to regulations regarding nursing practices or the activities of nursing assistants or medication technicians in a practice setting.

    (b) Purpose. -- A demonstration study enables the Board, in a controlled practice setting, to determine:

       (1) The safety of the proposed practice or activity; and

       (2) The appropriate education or training requirements for a proposed practice or activity.

    (c) Duties of Board; waivers. --

       (1) The Board shall:

          (i) Approve the demonstration study design; and

          (ii) Select the testing facilities.

       (2) The Board may waive selected nursing practice requirements during a demonstration study.
