§ 4-312. Temporary license to practice dental hygiene

  •    (a) Authority to issue. -- Subject to the provisions of this section, the Board may issue a temporary license to practice dental hygiene to an applicant who:

       (1) Is licensed to practice dental hygiene in any other state or any province of Canada;

       (2) Meets any other qualifications that the Board establishes;

       (3) Submits to the Board an application on the form that the Board requires;

       (4) Has graduated from a dental hygiene program accredited by the American Dental Association Commission on Dental Accreditation; and

       (5) Pays to the Board an application fee set by the Board.

    (b) Scope. -- While it is effective, a temporary license to practice dental hygiene authorizes the holder to practice dental hygiene subject to the same restrictions imposed on a holder of a general license to practice dental hygiene.

    (c) Term. -- A temporary license to practice dental hygiene expires when licenses are issued to those who pass the first examination for a general license to practice dental hygiene given over 30 days after the effective date of the temporary license.
