§ 5-530. Prohibited acts -- Penalty

  •    (a) False statement -- Application or document. -- A person may not knowingly make or cause to be made a false statement or report in an application or document submitted to the Authority under this part.

    (b) False statement -- To influence Authority. -- A person may not knowingly make or cause to be made a false statement or report to influence an action of the Authority under this part:

       (1) on an application for financial assistance; or

       (2) affecting financial assistance whether or not the assistance has already been extended.

    (c) Penalty. -- A person who violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to imprisonment not exceeding 5 years or a fine not exceeding $ 50,000 or both.
