§ 5-463. False statement or report

  •    (a) False statement or report -- Application or document. -- A person may not knowingly make or cause a false statement or report to be made in an application or document submitted to the Authority.

    (b) False statement or report -- To influence Authority. -- A person may not knowingly make or cause a false statement or report to be made to influence an action of the Authority:

       (1) on an application for financial assistance under this subtitle; or

       (2) affecting financial assistance sought or awarded under this subtitle.

    (c) Penalty. -- A person who violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to imprisonment not exceeding 5 years or a fine not exceeding $ 50,000 or both.

    (d) Statute of limitations and in banc review. -- A person who violates this section is subject to § 5-106(b) of the Courts Article.
