§ 8-505. Public assistance -- Conversion of donated food

  •    (a) Unauthorized disposition. -- A person with intent to defraud may not make an unauthorized disposition of food donated under a program of the federal government.

    (b) Unauthorized conversion. -- A person who is not authorized to receive food donated under any program of the federal government may not convert the food to the person's own use or benefit.

    (c) Penalty. -- A person who violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to imprisonment not exceeding 6 months or a fine not exceeding $ 500 or both.
