§ 1-101. Definitions

(a) In general. -- In this article the following words have the meanings indicated.
(b) Clerk. -- "Clerk" means the clerk of the circuit court for the county with appropriate jurisdiction.
(c) Comptroller. -- "Comptroller" means the Comptroller of the State.
(d) Consumer member. -- "Consumer member" means a nonprofessional member of a regulatory unit who is appointed from the general public.
(e) County. -- "County" means a county of the State or Baltimore City.
(f) Department. -- "Department" means the Department of Labor, Licensing, and Regulation.
(g) Person. -- "Person" means an individual, receiver, trustee, guardian, personal representative, fiduciary, representative of any kind, partnership, firm, association, corporation, or other entity.
(h) Secretary. -- "Secretary" means the Secretary of Labor, Licensing, and Regulation.
(i) State. -- "State" means:
(1) a state, possession, territory, or commonwealth of the United States; or
(2) the District of Columbia.
