§ 13-707. Penalties

  •    (a) In general. -- A person who violates any provision of this title is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to a fine not exceeding $ 1,000 or imprisonment not exceeding 1 year or both.

    (b) Limitation. -- The fines assessed under § 13-313 and 13-409 of this title may not exceed $ 5,000 per violation, or a maximum aggregate of $ 10,000 for a 2-year license term, and shall be paid to the Secretary within 10 days after final adjudication of any hearing or upon the waiver of any hearing.

    (c) Who may be assessed fines. -- Notwithstanding the provisions of § 13-313 and 13-409 of this title, the Secretary may fine either the licensed agency or the individual working on behalf of the licensed agency, but not both, for the same violation.
