§ 16-502. Fines and forfeitures

  •    (a) Payable to county where offense committed; exceptions. -- All fines imposed or recognizances forfeited for any violation of any provision of this article shall be payable to:

       (1) Except for Harford County, the county in which the offense was committed;

       (2) Baltimore City, if the offense was committed in Baltimore City; or

       (3) The Harford County Liquor Control Board, if the offense was committed in Harford County.

    (b) Allegany County. -- Provided, that in Allegany County, one half of each fine shall be disposed of as provided by § 7-507 of the Courts Article. Where the offense has been committed in any incorporated city or town, one quarter shall go to said city or town as the case may be, and the remaining quarter shall be paid to Allegany County for its general purposes, and where said offense has been committed outside of any incorporated city or town, one half of said fine shall be paid to Allegany County for its general purposes.

    (c) Certain other counties. -- Provided further that in Carroll, Cecil, Dorchester, Kent, Somerset, Talbot and Wicomico counties one half of each fine shall be disposed of as provided in § 7-507 of the Courts Article.

    (d) Worcester County. -- Provided that in Worcester County, one half of each fine shall be disposed of as provided in § 7-507 of the Courts Article.
